Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, August 11, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Lisa Borel, 51, who passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017, in Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Matthew Broussard. Gift bearers will be Alasha Broussard, Annette Malveaux, and Haley Malveaux. Music will be provided by Gilley Wiltz. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Ms. Lisa Borel enjoyed listening to music, talking on the phone, and attending church at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her Godchildren, Michael Broussard and spouse Lindsey of Natchitoches and Alasha Broussard of Cecilia; uncles, Gerald Gordon and Abel Borel and wife JoAnna, all of Breaux Bridge; aunts, Borita Davis of Arnaudville, Gustavia Savoie and her husband, Murphy of Arnaudville, Irma Stewart and husband, Bill of Bossier City, Wilda Singleton and husband, Clarence of Breaux Bridge, Elizabeth Ledet of Opelousas, Ezola Williams and husband Robert of Cecilia, Eula Mae Calais of Houston, TX, Emily Robicheaux of Arnaudville, and Mary Ezola Williams of Cecilia; a cousin, Katherine Johnson and husband Kevin Sr. of St. Martinville; and a host of other cousins and family. She was preceded in death by her father, John Joseph Borel; mother, Mary Lucy Gordon Borel; and brothers, Donald Borel and Johnny Borel. Pallbearers will be Kent Johnson, Darius Borel, Michael Broussard, Elroy Williams, Melvin Broussard, Sr., and Jerry Robicheaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Broussard, Jr., Able Borel, Gerald Gordon, and Clarence Singleton.
