"LJ" Lazaire John Dugas

St. Martinville - A Private Service will be held for the immediate family of "LJ" Lazaire John Dugas, 79, who passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020, at his home. Due to the Governor's Public Health Emergency Proclamation, limiting gatherings to no more than 50 people, a private service will be held for immediate family only. LJ was born in St. Martinville to the late James, Sr. and Louella Trahan Dugas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. LJ loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a hardworking farmer for over 50 years. LJ will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse Madeline JaneSuard Dugas; son, Casey Dugas and wife Penny; daughters, Francine Dugas, Tracey Urban and husband Craig Andreas, and Cherie Dugas; brothers, Huey Dugas, Sr., Bobby Dugas, and Ned Dugas; sisters, Terry Dupuis and husband August, Vickie Duplechain, Louella Blanchard and husband Durphy, and Joy Thibodeaux and husband Junny; grandchildren, Michael, Krysten, Alicia, Ashley, Abbie, and Emma; and great-grandchildren, Jasper, Autumn, Laura, Hannah, and RaeLee. He was preceded in death by his father, James Dugas, Sr.; mother, Louella Dugas; brothers, James Dugas, Jr. and Ward Dugas; and his sister, Earline Bonin. Pallbearers will be Casey Dugas, Craig Andreas, Bo Boy Dugas, Chris Dugas, Becket Breaux, and Bronson Breaux.
