New Iberia - Private services were held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for the immediate family of Lloyd Dugas, 93, who passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
Rev. Barry Crochet was the Officiant.
Entombment followed at St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Loreauville.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Deacon Durk Viator led the rosary at 10:30 am.
A native of Loreauville and a resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Dugas was born on on January 9, 1927 to the late Anatole and Lucette Broussard Dugas. He worked as a sugarcane farmer and a boat builder, and he enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He will be deeply missed.
Mr Dugas is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Guernice Poirier Dugas; daughters, Janet Franks (husband Lee) of New Iberia, and Gail Borel (husband Basil) of Loreauville; three grandchildren, Melissa Franks of St. Martinville, Toni Lousteau (husband Matthew) of Houston, Basil John Borel of New Orleans; two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Bentley Franks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Joseph Dugas.
Pallbearers were Basil Borel, Lee and Bentley Franks, Basil John Borel, Darrell Neuville, Sr., Lynn Hebert and Cayden Franks.
Honoarary pallbearer is Matthew Lousteau.
