Lloyd Joseph Dupuis

Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2007, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Lloyd Joseph Dupuis, 79, who died Friday, February 23, 2007 at his residence in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson. Fr. Allen Breaux will conduct the funeral service and the gift bearers will be Ashley Serrett and Caroline Serrett. Mr. Dupuis was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marines. He retired from Exxon as a Marine Engineer with 28 years of service. He was former president of the Exxon Annuitant Club, former parish council member at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Mr. Dupuis also worked at Wal-Mart in Breaux Bridge as a greeter. Survivors include his wife, Emily Huval Dupuis; his son, Ricky Paul Dupuis and his wife, Debbie, all of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Nancy Dupuis Serrett and her husband, Dwight of Houston, TX; his brothers, Anton Dupuis and Allen Dupuis, both of Lafayette, Wade Dupuis, Francis Dupuis and Newton Dupuis, all of Breaux Bridge; his sister, Dorothy Huval of Cecilia; his grandchildren, Tyler Paul Dupuis and Nicholas Jude Dupuis, both of Breaux Bridge, Michael Serrett and his wife, Caroline, and Ashley Elizabeth Serrett, all of Houston; and his great-grandson, William Michael Serrett of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Teresa Courville Dupuis; his step-mother, Adaise Dupuis; his brothers, Sprague Dupuis, Charles Dupuis and Walter Dupuis, Jr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 am ~ 10:00 pm, Sunday, February 25, 2007 and continue at 7:00 am Monday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday. Pallbearers will be Tyler Dupuis, Nicholas Dupuis, Michael Serrett, Dwight Serrett, Newton Dupuis and Francis Dupuis. Honorary pallbearers will be Macy Usie, Anton Dupuis and Wade Dupuis. Pellerin Funeral Home, 211 Berard St, Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
