Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1 :30 p.m., on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lloyd Huval, Sr., 70, who passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson . Rev. Neil McNeill, Assoicate Pastor of St. Bernard Catholic Chuch will ; conduct services.Ryan Broussard will altar serve for the funeral mass. Lloyd was born December 5, 1939 . He worked for the Great Lakes Dredging and Dock Company for 52 years. Lloyd entered the company and worked his way up to become a Leverman. He greatly enjoyed his work as well as his many co-workers that he treasured as his second family throughout the years. Through his work, he and his wife, Lydia got to travel many places including Doha Quatar, the Bahamas and many states within the U. S. Lloyd also farmed sugarcane for a few years. During his free time Lloyd enjoyed gardening, hunting, and playing dominos with his closest friends and family. Lloyd adored his wife, Lydia and was a very proud father to his four children, Pam, Judy, LJ and Chad . He was an incredible PeePaw to his seven grandchildren, Allison, Kristyn, Leigh, Abbie, Micah, Chalisse, Colin and great-granddaughter, Adalie. He looked forward to Sunday dinners at their home when the family would get together to enjoy a meal and great company. Lloyd was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Deidre Stelly, Dr. Michael Cain, Dr. Gary Guidry, RN Debbie White, as well as the staff of the Cancer Center of Acadiana, Synergy Home Care and Louisiana Hospice. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 50 years Lydia Johnson Huval. His children and their spouses Pam H. Melancon, Mike Melancon, Judy H. Broussard, Keenan Broussard, Lloyd 'LJ' Huval, Jr., Brittny B. Huval, Chad Huval and Megan L. Huval; his grandchildren Allison Melancon, Kristyn Melancon, Leigh Broussard, Abbie Broussard, Micah Huval, Chalisse Huval and Colin Huval and his great-granddaughter Adalie Frederick; his niece, Jenna Johnson; his siblings Irene H. Hebert, Nathan Huval and his twin brother, Floyd Huval. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurlien and Helen B. Huval; his brother, Leroy and Francis Huval; his sisters, Solange H. LeGrand, Anna Lou H. Albert, Lena H. Dupuis and Estelle H. Wiltz. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010 and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Lloyd 'LJ' Huval, Jr., Chad Huval, Floyd Huval, Nathan Huval, Keenan Broussard, Mike Melancon, Colin Huval and Micah Huval. Honorary pallbearers will be Harris Wiltz, Bo Hannigan, Rena Lee Faucheaux, Danny Robin, John Huval and Lennis 'Chute' Huval. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
