Lona Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Lona Guidry, 90, who passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at Summerhouse Park Provence - Senior Living in Slidell.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 9:00 am until 11:30 am on Saturday.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday.

Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.

Lona was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a member of a local rosary group and the VFW.  She loved quilting, crocheting, cooking, and shopping. Lona was a very family-oriented woman, who will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her son, Bucky Lynn Guidry (Carol); her daughter, Tamara DesOrmeaux (Jacob Zinzer); grandchildren, Carter Guidry and Mairin Guidry; brother, Berlie Latiolais; and her sisters, Gertie Angelle and Shirley LaFleur (John).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ames Antoine Guidry; and her parents, Antoine and Brigette L. Latiolais.

Pallbearers will be Larry Carmouche, John Lafleur, Gary Theriot, Bryan Angelle, Thomas Latiolais, and Ricky Breaud.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Zinzer.
