Lonnie Warren Duhon

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church in New Iberia for Lonnie Warren Duhon, 34, who died Monday, July 27, 2009 in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. ; Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. ;Lectors for the mass will be Sharon Walker and Madeline Guidry. Giftbearers will be his nieces. Lonnie enjoyed his volunteer work at the Carmelite Monestary; he assisted with the outdoor gardening and the mission trip to Mexico. He was an avid LSU and Duke University fan. His hobbies included tennis, basketball, weight lifting, playing pool and telling jokes. Lonnie was a friend to many , and his generous spirit will be missed by all. ; Survivors include his mother, Joselyn Jo Duhon of Lafayette; father, Lawrence Duhon, Sr. and Evelyn Morgan of New Iberia; brothers, Shawn Duhon of New Iberia, Lawrence Duhon, Jr. of Abbeville; sisters, Angela Duhon Qaisieh and husband Nabiah of Lafayette, Dawn Duhon Guidry and husband Gary of Abbeville; nephews, Craig Guidry, Grant Duhon, Stephan Guidry, Saba Qaisieh, Brandon Duhon; nieces, Jeannine Guidry, Camille Guidry Arsement, Kalyn Guidry Akers, Madeline Guidry, Sarah Qaisieh; great nephew, Christopher Arsement and his special friend Tracy Jordan. ; He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Susie Vullo Schexnyder; paternal grandparents, Essie and Eronique Duhon and half sister, Serena Faye Duhon. ; Pallbearers will be his brothers, brother in laws and nephews. Honorary pallbearers include Clay Good, Robert Good and Newton Duhon. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:30 PM until 10:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed Friday evening (at 7:00 PM.
