New Iberia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia for Loretta Romero Vice, 86, who passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Wednesday.
Rev. Alexander Albert will be the Celebrant. Holy Scripture will be read by Kristi Huval and Carrol Vice. Gift bearers will be Emily and Mason Hebert.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
A native of Youngsville and a resident of New Iberia Manor South, Loretta Romero Vice was born on August 6, 1930 to the late Joseph and Lazalda Romero. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Loretta enjoyed babysitting, listening to country music, and taking long walks, but her favorite things were playing Bouree' and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Vice is survived by daughters, Bonnie Crochet and husband Emmet "Joe" Crochet, Jr. of New Iberia, and Terri Bouton and husband Kevin of New Iberia; son, Randy James Vice, Sr. and wife Carrol of Erath; sister, Lizzie Belle Touchet of New Iberia; daughter-in-law, Aline Vice of Youngsville; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and extended family members, Kristi, Mason and Emily.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexandre Vice; son, Harold Vice, Sr., brothers, Pierre Romero, Ulysse Romero, and Joseph Romero, Jr., and sisters, Lizzy Mae Broussard, and Lyzette LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Harold Vice, Jr., Brent Vice, Randy Vice, Jr., Brody Bouton, Emmet Crochet IV, Tyler Vice, Zachary Vice, and Gavin Crochet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Vice, Sr., Emmet Crochet, Jr., Kevin Bouton, Co Vice, Jeremy Crochet, Justin Vice, Devin Crochet, Todd Noel, Hayden Noel, and Emmet Crochet III.
