Lorin Schexnyder Dore

New Iberia – A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Lorin Schexnyder Dore, 90, who passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. 

Interment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. 

Deacon Durk Viator will officiate. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Thursday, from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. 

The Men’s Rosary Group will lead the rosary at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Dore was born on July 16, 1934, in Vermilion Parish, to the late Clovis and Evelyn Campbell Schexnyder. She worked as a caregiver for many throughout the years. Mrs. Dore enjoyed sewing, playing Bourrée, going to the casino, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed. 

Survivors include her children, Mark Dore (Vickie), David Brent Dore, and June Hanna (Elmer Joe); sister, Betty Jane Daigle; grandchildren, Jason Dore, David Dore, Jeremy Hatley (Lauren), Sarah Hatley, Grant Dore (Jennifer), and Christie Smith (Trinity); great grandchildren, Lucas Dore, Alex Dore, Josie Rhodes (Samuel), Meredith Hatley, Sawyer Hatley, Amelia Hatley, Jonas Schmidt, Ava Marcantel, Emma Dore, Matthew Dore, Stacie Barrilleaux, and Grae Smith; great great grandson, Atticus Jude Rhodes; step granddaughter, Kristy Richard (Jason); step great grandchildren, Kaylei Hebert (Alex) and Slayde Richard; step great great granddaughter, Evie Hebert. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dore was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dore, a son, Michael Lance Dore; and brothers, Clanice “CJ” Schexnyder, Fernest Schexnyder, Warman Schexnyder, Raywood Schexnyder, and Walter Schexnyder.
