Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Lorraine Lolo Angelle Mills, 94, who passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the Memorial Mass.
Lolo was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School and University of Southwestern Louisiana (U.L.L.) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Masters of Education Degree. She worked from the age of 18 to the age of 84. She was employed as a Bookkeeper/Office Manager for Gulf Public Service Company (which is now CLECO), as a stenographer and caseworker for the St. Martin Parish Department of Public Welfare, as a Reading Coordinator and teacher at Cecilia Primary, Cecilia Junior High, Breaux Bridge Primary and Breaux Bridge Junior High, as a Library Assistant at the Breaux Bridge Public Library, as a caseworker for the St. Martin Parish Sheriffs Departments Adult Protective Services, and spent the last 8 years of her 66 working career as a clerk at Precious Past Gift Shop in Breaux Bridge.
She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi (U.S.L.), Lafayette General Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary, St. Martin Parish Home Demonstration Club, Acadiana Arts Council, Breaux Bridge Historical Society, and the SALT Council.
Her family would like her to be remembered for her persistence, passion and preciseness in life.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Christine Mills of Breaux Bridge; three grandchildren Kevin Caillier and wife, Dawn, Mills Caillier and wife, Jamie; and Albert Chapman Mills, IV; five great grandchildren, Lyndsy, Trent, Karlon, Karter, and Karson Caillier; three nieces, Carol C. Guidry of Breaux Bridge, Margaret C. Barron of Baton Rouge, and Joy C. Citron of Carencro; two nephews, Sonny Champagne of Breaux Bridge and Rickey Coleman of Texas; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, A.C. Mills; her son, Albert Chappy Mills, III; her parents, Numa and Eve Blanchard Angelle; and her sisters, Ada A. Champagne, Helen A. Coleman, and Rena A. Sonnier.
The family would like to give special thanks to Shirley Patin, her dedicated caregiver, for her compassionate care and attention given to her over the years.
