St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Louella Johnson Lewis, 79, who passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Wednesday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Court #54 of Notre Dame Catholic Church. As a pastime, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing, and spending time outside gardening.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Lewis and wife Danielle of Kathleen, GA; brothers, Calvin Johnson and wife Pamela of Morgan City and Robert Johnson of St. Martinville; sister, Lucille Mallery and husband Zervin of St. Martinville; grandchildren, Ian Lewis, Elyse Lewis, Paris Lewis, Quinton Lewis, and Kai Welsey Lewis; and a great grandchild, I'Miyah Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wesley "Sue-Sue" Lewis; parents, Murphy and Sedonia Wiltz Johnson; sisters, Helen Senegal, Enola Wiltz, and Merle Hall; and brothers, Albert Johnson and Clifton Wiltz.
Pallbearers will be Tias Mitchell, Carlton Senegal, Ray Stone, Bryan Lewis, Iannigel Lewis, and Paris Lewis
