VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Louis J. Calais, 88, who passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Opelousas General Hospital. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Floyd Calais will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass. The reader will be Yvonne C. Huval. Mr. Calais was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Army and was retired with the United States Postal Service. He loved singing, playing guitar and the piano. He enjoyed spending time with his family and good friends. Survivors include four nieces, Genevieve Hardy Angelle, Yvonne Calais Huval, both of Cecilia, Rose Marie Hardy Rivette, of Arnaudville, and Olivia Calais Bienvenu, of St. Martinville; one nephew, Charles C. Calais, of Vicksburg, MS; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Onezine J. and Laura Hamilton Calais; six brothers, Wesley Calais, Percy Calais, Dean Calais, Paul "Callan" Calais, Walter Calais, and Francis "Pim" Calais; and three sisters, Genieve Calais, Hazel Calais, and Wilda Calais Hardy. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Charles Calais, Kenny Angelle, Gary Angelle, John Angelle, Dean Angelle, and Randy Angelle. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Angelle and Will Angelle. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
