Arnaudville- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Louis Courville, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Fr. Keenan Brown will officiate at the funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.
Mr. Courville was a carpenter who enjoyed his trade of home construction. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed hunting, crawfishing, camping, and trail riding. He loved playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Rogers Courville and his wife, Lucy, of Arnaudville, and Adam 'Butch' Courville and his wife, Lillian, of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Walter Courville and Jessie Courville and his wife, Shirley; one sister, Rena Trahan; five grandchildren, Lori Bernard and her husband, Leopold, Kelly Courville and her fianc, Gerald LaGrand, Jr., Jonas Courville, Mark Courville, and his wife, Amber, and Charlene Courville; and one great grandchild, Chloe Bernard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Begnaud Courville; his parents, Eluse and Blanche Courville; and his sister and brother-in-law, Alma C. and Elusar Guidry.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A rosary will be recited on Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be Mark Courville, Jonas Courville, Leopold Bernard, Jr., Gerald LaGrand, Jr., and Butch Courville.
Honorary pallbearer will be Rogers Courville.
The Courville family would like to thank all who came by to visit or call and support us through this time and those whose thoughts and prayers were sent our way. We would also like to thank all the nurses and doctors who gave him awesome care at St. Agnes Nursing Home, J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home, Hospice of Acadiana, and staffs of Lafayette General Medical Center and I.C.U.
