St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Louis Hamilton Jones, 70, who passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at his home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday.
Rev. Michael Sucharski, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Jalisa Collins-Broussard, Albertine Morris, and Natasha Pickney-Ferdinand. Patsy Robertson will read the Prayers of the Faithful. Gift bearers will be Brielle Allen, Montrell Lewis, and Kynslee Morris.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Louis worked for Levert-St. John for 34 years before beginning his employment with Louisiana Sugarcane Cooperative for 19 years, as a farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, barbecuing, listening to music, dancing, watching daily soap operas, and watching WWE. Louis was a die-hard New England Patriots fan. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Louis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Darlene Jones-Lewis and husband Reginald, Jaquelene Jones-Dixon and husband Ottis, Jr., and Kayla Mason and husband Keith; son, Kelly Morris and wife Albertine; brothers, Daniel Lindon, Sr., and Amos Linden; sisters, Anna Mae Smith and Edna Mae Linden; grandchildren, Briana Allen, Brycent Allen, Monique Dixon, Aislynne Mitchell, Brielle Allen, Kynslee Morris, Montrell Lewis, Zayden Jones, Ainsley Morris, Ka'leah Martin, Keith Mason, Jr., and Carson Morris; great grandchild, Jayce Duffie; godchild, Jermaine Boudreaux; and special nephew, Burnell Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Mae Shelvin; father, Clifton Linden; maternal and paternal grandparents; sisters, Leatha Mitchell, Ethal Mae Linden, Dorothy Mitchell, and Louethel Lasalle; and brothers, Leroy Jones, Raymond Linden, and Joseph Jones.
Pallbearers will be Ron Allen Jr, William Davis, Amos Linden, Cornelius Lewis, Kevin Batiste, and Tometius Antoine.
