New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church in New Iberia for Louis Paul Metz, 87, who died Tuesday, December 08, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. ; Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. Readers for the mass will be Robert and Susan Klingman. ; Born on October 9, 1922 in New Iberia, Mr. Metz was the owner of Louis Metz Floor Covering. A member and longtime usher at St. Peters Catholic Church, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and gardening. ; Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Boutte and husband Wayne of New Iberia; brother, Richard Metz and wife Tuttie of New Iberia; sister, Gertie Calloway of Houston; grandchildren, Brandon Boutte and wife Jen of Henderson, Brandi Bulot and husband David of Belle Chasse, Blaire Boutte and fianc Andy Perry of Lafayete; great grandchildren, Kole Bulot and Brynn Bulot. ; He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Touchet Metz; his parents, Albert Metz, Sr. and Alphonsine Migues Metz; sisters, Claudia Girouard, Hazel Hudson; brothers, Albert Metz, Jr., Frederick Metz; grandson, Chad Michael Boutte. ; Pallbearers will be Brandon Boutte, David Bulot, Mack Hudson, Bozo Metz, Tim Vice and Andy Perry. ; A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. ; The family acknowledges and extends their appreciation for the care that was given to Mr. Louis during his illness to Dr. Mata, Dr. Ned Dauterive, Dr. Paul Gulotta, Iberia Medical Center and Iberia Extended Care. ; Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
