New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia for Louis Clerville Peltier, 87, who passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017, in New Iberia.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, with Recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
Entombment will follow in Nativity Cemetery, with Military Honors by Iberia Honor Guard.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Louis Clerville Peltier was born on April 12, 1930 to the late Clerville and Rose Robicheaux Peltier. He was a 1948 graduate of St. Peter's College, and was a retired Major with the Army National Guard. Mr. Peltier worked various positions his entire life in the oilfield industry, including District Manager at Waukesha Pearce Industries and Vice President of Power and Equipment Division at Unifab, and was an Oilfield Consultant with MMR when he retired. Louis was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening, but time spent with his family was what he cherished most.
Mr. Peltier is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dolores Segura Peltier; son, Michael Peltier and wife Pam of New Iberia; daughters, Helen Brierre of Youngsville, Barbara Burgardt and husband Daniel of New Iberia, and Kathy Berard of Loreauville; grandchildren, Tina P. Broussard and husband Johnny, Angela P. Morris and husband Seth, Cristen M. Peltier, Derek M. Peltier, Anthony "Tony" Berard and wife Jeanna, Jennifer B. Berard and husband Braedon, Jake S. Burgardt and wife Lisa, Laura E. Burgardt, Robert A. Belaire, and Emily A. Brierre; two sisters, Rose Mary Brasseaux and husband K.J., and Dorothy Theall; and great-grandchildren, Amanda Bodin; Kolby Broussard and wife Kenzie, Lucah Broussard, Reed Morris, Rebecca Morris, Andrew Berard, Ayden Berard, Alix Berard, and Lake Berard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Louis Anthony "Tony" Peltier, sister, Florence "Tootie" Migues, and brothers, Allen and Walter Peltier.
Serving as pallbearers are Derek M. Peltier, Jake S. Burgardt, Robert A. Belaire, Seth Morris, Braedon Berard, and Rusty Duplantis. Honorary pallbearer is Anthony Tony Berard.
