Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Louis Lester Pontiff, 74, who passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in Brewton, Alabama. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday and continue at 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited 7 pm on Friday evening. Rev. Keenan W. Brown will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Nadine Kidder and Amanda Darby. Gift Bearers will be Phyllis Marks, Kelly Pontiff, and Tiffany Pontiff. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville. Mr. Pontiff enjoyed working on the dredges for over 50 years, singing Karaoke, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by two sons, Troy Pontiff of Sorrento and Julian Pontiff of Cecilia; four daughters, Phyllis Marks of Pecanierre, Reba Mendenhall of Seymour, TN, Kelly Pontiff and Tiffany Pontiff, both of Panama City, FL; one brother, Adolph Pontiff, Jr. of Arnaudville; two sisters, Margine Ella Latiolais and Mary Lee Lagrange, both of Arnaudville; 7 grandchildren, Casey Marks, Kristy Pontiff, Ashley Pontiff, Noah Pontiff, Nick Pontiff, Owen Pontiff, and Kaison Wombles; 4 great grandchildren, Aaron, Logan, Bethany, and Ethan; and his good friend and caretaker, Lisa Pontiff of Brewton, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Pontiff, Sr. and Agnes Duplechin Pontiff; his son, Mitchell Louis Pontiff; three brothers, Chester Pontiff, Ronald Pontiff, and Luke Pontiff, Sr.; and three sisters, Modest Quebedeaux, Alice Pontiff, and Elaine Pontiff. Pallbearers will be Troy Pontiff, Patrick Pontiff, Todd Latiolais, Ronnie Dyess, Jeremy Burch, and Michael Carraway. Honorary pallbearers will be Adolph Pontiff, V.J.
