Louis Rodrigue

Rynella - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, August 30, 2010 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella for Louis Donald Rodrigue, 84 who died Thursday, August 26, 2010 in St. Martin Parish. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. Rev. Richard Fabre will be the Celebrant. Born on November 30, 1925 in New Iberia , Mr. Rodrigue was a sugar cane farmer, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was an active leader and supporter of St. Marcellus Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years, and a member of the Boys Scouts of America for over 40 years where he served as Scout Master of Troop 15, Avery Island, LA. Survivors include his sons, John Paul Rodrigue of New Iberia, Richard Philip 'Ricky' Rodrigue and wife Kathy of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Dillan Rodrigue, Logan Rodrigue, Grant Rodrigue, David Rodrigue, Ben Rodrigue, Andrew Rodrigue; great granddaughter, Taralyn Grace Rodrigue; special friend of 20 years, Mary Anne Broussard of Breaux Bridge and her children, Deborah B. Fuselier, Greg Broussard and wife Ethel, Barbara Perrodin and husband Kenzie, and Sheila Broussard; He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Rodrigue; parents, Philip Joseph and Irma Pesson Rodrigue; brothers, Elmo Rodrigue, Alfred Rodrigue, and Raymond Rodrigue. Pallbearers will be Logan Rodrigue, David Rodrigue, Ben Rodrigue, Mike Rodrigue, Jimmy Rodrigue, Danny Rodrigue, Kevin Horton, and Kenzie Perrodin. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday.
