Lovina Sylvester

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lovina Mary Johnson Sylvester, 86, who passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012, at her residence in Breaux Bridge. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m., at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge. A rosary will be recited at 8 am on Saturday. Fr. Robert Seay will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Arthur Curtis, Jr. and Evelyn Brown. Musical selections will be provided by Jimmy Joubert. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Lovina enjoyed watching TV and her flowers bloom. She loved cooking and baking. Lovina especially loved preparing a meal for her children when they visited. She is survived by her sons, Clifton Sylvester, Sr. of Breaux Bridge, Joseph Sylvester, Sr. of Breaux Bridge, Wilton Sylvester of Lake Charles, Ernest Sylvester of Breaux Bridge, Wilbert Sylvester of Beaumont, TX, Gerald Sylvester of Breaux Bridge, Lee Boy Sylvester of Breaux Bridge and Jerry Sylvester of Breaux Bridge; her daughters, Shirley Sylvester and Mary Ann Barras both of Breaux Bridge; her sister, Anna Mae Johnson of Breaux Bridge; 60 grandchildren; 112 great grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Yolanda Alexander Johnson; her husband, Paul Sylvester; her son, Robert Sylvester; her daughters, Sidona Sylvester, Mary Lee Sylvester and Joyce Sylvester; her brother, Alton Ledet: and her sisters, Margaret Johnson, Rose Johnson, Laura Barber and Mary Johnson. Pallbearers will be LeeBoy Sylvester, Ernest Sylvester, Joseph Sylvester, Sr., Wilbert Sylvester, Gerald Sylvester, Sr., Wilton Sylvester, Edward James Sylvester, Felton Lewis, and Mitchell Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifton Sylvester, Sr., Jerry Sylvester, and Earl Mitchell.
