Lafayette - Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Wilmer United Methodist Church in Wilmer, Alabama, for Lowell A. Evans, 82, who passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at his Lafayette home.
Mr. Evans was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 12, 1936 to the late Grady Evans and Maude Tully Evans. He proudly served our country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era, and he worked as a Materials Expeditor in the Oilfield before he retired. Lowell was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He enjoyed bowling and housework, but his passion was rebuilding cars. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Evans is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Fairley Evans of Lafayette; daughter, Kristy Evans Brill of Duson; son, Randall Evans and wife Trudy of Houston; sister, Dell Cooke and husband Bill of Houston; grandchildren, Cassie Niehaus, Jessica Kirby, Kasey (Chi) Brill, Kellin (Alessandra) Evans, Elyse Evans, Quinn Evans, Nicolas Abello, and Sofia Abello; great-grandchildren, Nataley Niehaus, Matthew Niehaus, Jr., Jordan Niehaus, Elias Kirby, and Joey Kirby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Evans; a sister, Janice Dunn; brothers, Earl, Donald and J.T. Evans; and grandchildren, Matthew Niehaus, Miranda Evans Niehaus, and Korey Brill.
