Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Luanna Leger Poche, 78, who passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until the time of the funeral service. Luanna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a teacher for over 30 years at several St. Martin Parish Schools (Little Flower, Cecilia Primary, and St. Bernard), taught swimming lessons in Cecilia, was a girl scout leader for many years, and played the violin in the church orchestra. Luanna enjoyed sewing and making porcelain dolls. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted spouse of 49 years Larry Poche; daughters, Terri L. Fontenot and husband Tony, Teddi P. Perret, and Tonni J. Maw and husband Robert; and her grandchildren, Russ Morgan, Dominique Morgan, Brody Schneider, Bowen Schneider, Samantha Maw, and Robbie Maw. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmo “Frenchie” Joseph Leger; mother, Emily Verna Leger Stout; and her son, Russ Daniel Miles Landry. Luanna’s family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care given to her by her daily sitters and the nursing staff on the 7th and 8th floors of Lafayette General Medical Center.
