Lucas Roy Lipari
New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Lucas Roy Lipari, 42, who lost his battle with cancer on Friday, March 24, 2017.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Monday, with Recitation of the Rosary at 11:00 AM, led by the Sisters of Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. Scripture will be read by Reid Huval and Grace Snellgrove. Cade and Macy Lipari will be Gift-bearers.
Inurnment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery at a later date.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Lucas Roy Lipari was born on December 23, 1974. He was a 1993 graduate of Catholic High School, and graduated from UL Lafayette. Along with his family, he co-owned Lipari Specialties, and was a Real Estate Agent with Van Eaton & Romero. A loving husband, father, son, and brother, Lucas loved life and loved to cook. He had a passion for everything outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, but time spent with his family was what he cherished most. Lucas was kind, had a huge heart and a contagious smile, and was a great friend to all. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Shanie Gary Lipari; daughter, Caroline Lipari; son, Hayes Lipari; brother, Thomas Anthony Lipari and wife Robin; sister, Mary Kay Snellgrove and husband Boyd; parents, Luke J. and Kay Lipari; nieces, Grace Snellgrove, Halee Maturin, Macy Lipari, and Kate and Braylee Hitter; nephew, Cade Lipari; mother and father-in-law, Charlotte and Larry Hitter; sister-in-law, Clare Hitter; and brother-in-law, Kevin Hitter and fiance, Brooke.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Roy and Maudrey Hanks; and paternal grandparents, Leo and Mary Lipari.
Pallbearers will be Brad Clause, Mark Lipari, Chris Haik, Chris Bigler, Trey Haik, Hugh Andre, Tim Ronsonet, and Chad Ronsonet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cade Lipari, Bryan Lipari, Eric Lissard, Kevin Hitter, Reid Huval, Lenny Gary, Boyd Snellgrove, Matthew Lipari, and Lenny Armato.
In memory of Lucas and because of his love for CHS, there will be an account set up to fund tuition for Caroline and Hayes for their duration at CHS. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Wen-Jen Hwu and her staff at MD Anderson; and to Dr. Son V. Nguyen and the entire staff at Iberia Medical Center for excellent care given to Lucas.
