Prior to her retirement in the late ‘70’s, Lucille was employed at Farmers-Merchants Bank in Breaux Bridge for many years. She worked in bookkeeping as the Assistant Bookkeeper, as well as in several other departments within the bank – her knowledge in all areas of banking was a valuable asset to the bank. She returned to the bank in 1981 on a part-time basis and again lent her banking experience to several departments.
Lucille, a devout and faithful Catholic, was lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was one of the first adorers in the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration when it opened in September of 1984. It was then her journey began in making many weekly Holy hours in the presence of the Holy Sacrament. Lucille was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Ladies Rosary Group, and St. La Salle Auxiliary. She was the recipient of the 2009 Bishop's Service Medal for her ministry and many years of dedicated service in the Diocese of Lafayette and St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge. Lucille enjoyed traveling, visiting, and dining with her friends on a weekly basis at Pat's Restaurant in Henderson, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as an awesome cook, but most of all, as a friendly lady who dressed with class and style and always greeted you with a smile.
