Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Lula Mae Castille Bienvenu, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at her residence.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Fr. Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Claudia Landry and Loren Savoie. Gift bearers will be Robert G. and Suzette Bienvenu and Aaron and Jacqueline Judice.
Lula Mae was a very loving and devoted wife and mother. She was very kind-hearted and found much joy in helping other people. Her passion was shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
Lula Mae was the owner of two trailer parks in Breaux Bridge, "Bob's Trailer Court" and "Grant's Trailer Park."
She was a member of several Bowling Leagues in the area and a member of the Woodmen of the World, Lodge 452, in Breaux Bridge.
She is survived by her son, Robert G. (Grant) Bienvenu and his wife, Suzette, of Lafayette; three brothers, Carlton "Kit" Castille, Raymond Castille, both of Breaux Bridge, and Richard Castille, of Church Point; three step grandchildren, Aaron, Jacqueline, and Nicholas Judice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Bienvenu; her parents, Moise and Angelina Broussard Castille; a brother, Melvin Castille; and a sister, Lorraine Lopez.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for their loving care. They would also like to give a special thank you to her neighbor and dear friend, Adrianna Lejeune, for her dedicated love and support during her time of need and to her family and friends.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Pallbearers will be her brother, Richard Castille, and five nephews, Shane Castille, Lee Castille, Claude Lopez, Melvin Lopez, and Jerry Bienvenu.
