The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in Henderson from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, and continue at 9:00 am until 12:45 pm on Sunday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Saturday. Rev. Keith Landry will officiate at the Funeral Service. Scriptures will be read by Sandra Dillard and Dr. Jeanne Theriot. Gift Bearers will be Marcie Dauphin and Adam Dauphin. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. Lula was born on May 24, 1927, at an evacuation camp set up in Lafayette, LA, for refugees of the Great Flood of 1927; and from the onset until the end, she proved to be a strong-willed fighter. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She was a gifted seamstress who enjoyed sewing for herself, her daughter, and her granddaughters. She was also a great cook whose simple, yet delicious, meals always left everyone satisfied. However, her 'burnt-sugar' pralines, a recipe handed down from her mother, were her specialty, and friends and family looked forward to these tasty treats. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Lula is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leroy Dauphin; her two sons, Glenwood (Carole) Dauphin and Dwayne Dauphin; her daughter, Connie Dauphin; her three grandchildren, Dr. Jeanne (Shane) Theriot, Marcie Dauphin, and Adam Dauphin; her four step grandchildren, Kasha (Jude) Bodin, Jerek, Tanner, and Ryan (Tammy) Johnson; five great grandchildren, Jonah, Zachary, Kaleb, Josie, and Elijah Theriot; and four step great grandchildren, Owen Bodin, Aida-lyse, Silas, and Elliana Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Estelle Thibodeaux Landry; her two brothers, John and Eno Landry; and her sisters, Birdie Daigle, Maria Simoneaux Poch, and Marie Fletcher. Pallbearers will be Glenwood Dauphin, Dwayne Dauphin, Adam Dauphin, Tanner Johnson, Ryan Johnson, and Earl Landry. Pellerin Funeral Home of Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
