St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. , on Monday, January 30, 2012 , at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Luna Castille Theriot, 96, who passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette . Msgr. Keith Derouen, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas will conduct the services. Reading the scriptures will be Chelsie Currier and Deana Capritto. Serving as gift bearers will be Lanie Boudreaux, Kaitlyn Blanchard and Cody Hulin. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Theriot was a member of the St. Martin Parish AARP and loved to travel. She enjoyed her daily coffee gatherings with family and friends. Survivors include her son, Charles Theriot, Jr. and his wife, Diane of St. Martinville; her daughter, Barbara T. Oubre of St. Martinville; her daughter in law, Lucille C. Theriot of St. Martinville; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and ;6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Theriot, Sr.; her son, Ramsey Theriot; her parents, Willis and Zajuanie Thibodeaux Castille; her brother, Harris Castille; her sisters, Hilda Bryant and Eula Mae Renfro and her son-in-law, Alton Oubre, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8 a.m. until 12:30 pm on Monday. The Catholic Daughters will recite a rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Alton Oubre, Jr., Mark Oubre, Darrel Theriot, Wayne Theriot, Dale Theriot and Keith Theriot. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to St. Martin Nursing Home, LGMC 2nd Floor Nursing Staff especially, Amy Green, Peggy Jones her caretaker, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana and to her daughter, Barbara, who gave her daily loving care throughout her life.
