Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2005, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Lydia Broussard Green, also known as "Catine" to many of her family and friends, 97, who died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at her residence in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Mrs. Green was a life-long member and one-time president of the St. Bernard Church Altar Society, and was a frequent contributor to decorate the church on many special occasions.
She was an avid dancer to Cajun Music for many years.
Survivors include her sons, Carroll Green and his wife, Greta of New Iberia, Allen Green of Breaux Bridge, William Green of Lafayette and Richard Green of Breaux Bridge; seven grandsons, Kort, Morgan, Stuart, Daniel, Michael, Troy, and Jason Green; six granddaughters, Donna Landry, Susan Green, Valerie Lepretre, Melanie Jacobs, Jennifer Green, and Lydia Capdepon; and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Green; her second husband, Felix Potier; and her parents, Ernest and Hortense Broussard.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.
Pallbearers will be her four sons, Carroll, Allen, William, and Richard Green, and her grandsons, Morgan and Stuart Green.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kort, Daniel, Michael, Troy and Jason Green.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
