New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM, on Friday, November 27, 2015, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Lydia Hardy Olivier, 85, who passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. Rev. Ed Degeyter will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 9:00 AM until 1:45 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A native of Port Barre and a longtime area resident, Mrs. Olivier was born on August 26, 1930 to Valmont "Dan" Hardy and Amanda Lagrange Hardy. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting, and caring for her family and God's creatures.. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Allen A. Olivier of New Iberia; sons, Tony Olivier and wife Connie of New Iberia, Thomas Olivier of Arnaudville, Tracy Olivier and wife Heather of Spring, Texas; daughters, Jerri O. Tatum and husband Coy of Lafayette, Cathy O. McHale and husband Mike of Ruston, Mandy O. Landry and husband Mark of New Iberia; sister, Bernice Hardy of Scott; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Olivier was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Marissa Guidry, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. In lieu of flower, donations can be made in Mrs. Olivier's memory to Friends of the Library, 445 E. Main Street, New Iberia, Louisiana 70560.
