St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Lynie Marie Kately Willis, 54, who passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday.
Rev. Augustinus Seran, SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Latanghue Narcisse, April Murphy, and Paulmer James, Jr. Gift Bearers will be Torri Willis, Abrien Ledet, and Traylynn Jean-Batiste.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
Lynie was a great asset to her church parish, community and her family - she was always there to lend a helping hand.
She had a love for volleyball and would try to make everyone's games whenever possible. She had a keen-eye for detail along with a passion for flowers and decorating.
Lynie was employed by Fruit of the Loom for 28 years and Dillard's Department Store for 14 /12; years. She was a hard-worker, and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Lynie was a mother to her sisters, nieces, and nephews, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Arthur Gerard Willis of St. Martinville; two daughters, Trisha Willis and husband, Curtis Broussard and Arletta Willis, all of St. Martinville; four brothers, Michael Kately and wife, Patricia, Ray Allen Kately and wife, Sue Ella, all of Houston, TX, Darrell Charlie Kately of St. Martinville, and Lesley Kately and wife, Paulette, of Lafayette; three sisters, Augustine Kately Dauphine and husband, Archille, of Houston, TX, Mariah Jacob and Deniah Kately, both of St. Martinville; and two grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam Kately, Jr. and Virginia Johnson Kately; and two sisters, Earline Kately James and Caroline Kately Dauphine.
Pallbearers will be Jason Willis, Greg Fontnette, Carl James, James Marks, Brian Fontnette, and Gerald James.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Kately, Ray Allen Kately, Darrell Kately, Lesley Kately, Kendra James, Kevin James, Abrien Ledet, Kendall LeBlanc, Ronald B. Willis, Ronald Fontnette, Jeremy Fontnette, Ronald Fontenette, Jr., Scott Jones, Carol Dauphine, Archille Dauphine, and John Zachary.
