Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Mabel Meb Huval Boyer, 80, who passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, February 5, 2010, in the presence of her loving and caring family.
Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Alan Breaux will conduct the services. The scriptures will be read by Sara and Renella Boyer. The gifts will be presented to the Altar by Steve and Alta Huval.
Mrs. Boyer enjoyed being outdoors doing things she loved, camping, fishing and crabbing. She also had a green thumb and could grow anything. When indoors, she would spend her time sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also instilled in her children and grandchildren Education is very important - Go to school. She never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Hilton John Boyer; six children, two daughters and four sons, Emmeline Boyer Deville and her husband, Carol Deville, and their daughter, Tammy Green of Breaux Bridge; Tina Boyer Hisaw and her husband, Jack Hisaw II, and their children, Logan Hisaw and Hailey Hisaw, of Carencro; Donald Boyer and his friend, Sue Durice, and his son, Matthiew Boyer, of Coteau; Dickie Boyer and his wife, Brenda Lewis Boyer, and their sons, Brent and Drew Boyer; Jimmie Boyer and his wife, Renella Allemond Boyer, and their daughters, Ashley and Jamie Boyer, of Carencro; Billy Boyer and his wife, Sara Degeyter Boyer, and their daughter, Cherie Boyer, of Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Cole Michael Green and Cain Paul Erikson. Surviving siblings include two brothers, Steve Huval and Paul Huval; and four sisters, Georgia Delahoussaye, Loula Mae Delahoussaye, Velma Poirier and Lois Blanchard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clodis and Anita Huval and two brothers, Ernest Huval, Sr. and Roland Huval.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Pallbearers will include her four sons, Donald, Dickie, Jimmie and Billy Boyer and two sons-in-law, Carol Deville and Jack Hisaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be her four grandsons, Brent, Drew, and Matthiew Boyer and Logan Hisaw.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
