Mabel T. Guidry

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Mabel T. Guidry, 73, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 surrounded by her family. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 8:00 am until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mabel was born to the late Alexis and Inez Granger Tauzin in Breaux Bridge, LA. She moved to Crowley, LA later in her life and resided there for over 25 years. Mabel was a lively character, always feisty and made a good "sheriff" in her childhood days. She was a strong woman full of wisdom, a hard worker, creative, adventurous, and dedicated to her family. Mabel was the sister, aunt, mom, grandmother and friend that was always there for every birthday and every surgery to show her love and support. She enjoyed being outdoors, eating cheeseburgers without the burger, and putting spicy hot sauce on everything. Her most favorite snack was mint chocolate chip ice cream, and we are confident she is having a big bowl of her favorite ice cream with Jesus. Mabel was an all-around good mom, and her house was the "cool" hang-out where all the kids would gather. She had a big love for her 2 granddaughters and had a very special relationship with the both of them. Mabel will be remembered for her generous heart and being the glue that held her family together. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving daughter, Dena Cowan and husband, Sean of Tyrone, GA; her granddaughters, Da-rain Cowan and Anicka Cowan; her sisters, Irene Poirier and husband, Raymond, Lou Thibodeaux and husband, Lawrence, and Elaine Pesson; and her brothers, Allen Tauzin and wife, Margaret, Charlie Tauzin and wife, Lorrena, and Dave Tauzin and wife, Anne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexis and Inez Granger Tauzin; brother, Harris Tauzin and wife Tess; sister, Mary Pesson and husband Lester; her brother-in-law, Leroy Pesson; a nephew, Drew Tauzin; and a niece, Cindy Poirier. Pallbearers will be Johnny Thibodeaux, Wayne Pesson, Neal Pesson, Troy Tauzin, Gene Knight, and Jake Tauzin.
