Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Mabel M. Guidry, 89, who passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday.
Rev. Keenan Brown will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Readings will be read by Azelie Quebedeaux. Gift bearers are Nancy Guidroz and Rhailyn Washington.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Mabel was born in Grand Coteau to the late Numa and Azelie Quebedeaux Meche. She was a member of the Ladies Alter Society, and volunteered to help clean the church. Mabel was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, watching Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with her family. Mabel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Elsie Toby and husband A.J.; sons, Robert "Brud" Guidry, and Danny Paul Guidry; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a special niece, Helen Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Grace Guidry, Laurence Comeaux, Gertrude Carriere; brothers, Herman Meche, and Duperville Meche.
Pallbearers will be Robert "Brud" Guidry, Danny Paul Guidry, Matthew Garrett Guidroz, Rickey Fuselier, Nicholas John Rudolph,and Jude Anthony Robin.
