The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 3:00 pm Tuesday until 1:30 pm Wednesday.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
Father Garret McIntyre will officiate at the funeral mass. Scripture readings will be read by Kelly Taylor and Valex Taylor. Gift Bearers will be Damon Turner, Danielle Turner, and Gabrielle Taylor.
Madi enjoyed spending time with her family and living life to the fullest. She loved staying up late watching her favorite TV shows, cutting and saving coupons, making art projects, dancing, singing, and playing with her sister, Gabi, and new puppy, CeCe. Madi served as the MDA Junior Goodwill Ambassador for four years and attended dance school at Front and Center for three years. Some of her favorite vacation spots included, Disney World and camping with her family. Madi truly loved life and everyone in her life and considered herself to be lucky because she had a house, a puppy, and her family.
She was never one to complain about the life she was given due to her congenital muscular dystrophy (CMD), and because of her immense strength and optimism, she has taught so many people how to love and live life to the fullest. In her passing, Madi has contributed to both the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency and the CMD registry, which will both save the lives of other children and provide valuable data that can be used in the search for a cure for other children with CMD.
She is survived by her mother and father, Jill and Kyle Taylor; her sister, Gabrielle Taylor; her grandmothers, Liz Landry and Pat Taylor; and her aunts and uncles, Kelly Taylor, Kim and Geary Taylor, Blane Taylor, Maura and Kip Collette, Danielle and Damon Turner and Carla and Brian Landry.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Leroy Landry and Larry Taylor.
The family would like to thank the PICU staff at Womens and Childrens Hospital in Lafayette and the PICU staff at Childrens Hospital in New Orleans for the care that they provided.
Pallbearers will be Jantzen Collette, Kaede Collette, Taylor Guidry, Ian Taylor, Noah Taylor, and Shannon Guidry.
