Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Mae Angelle Calais, 90, who died Monday, May 31, 2010 in Breaux Bridge. Readers for the funeral mass will be Spencer Arnaud, and Allison Knott. Gift Bearers will include all of Maes great grandchildren. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Donald Pousson will conduct the services. Mae was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for many years. She was known for enjoying 'The Three Cs' in life: Cooking, going to the Casino, and Cleaning. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, where she would provide a feast for all to enjoy. This was her way of giving thanks to every blessing bestowed upon her. Survivors include one son, Richard Calais; two daughters, Nancy C. Arnaud and her husband, Warren, and Sheila Calais; two grandchildren, Allison Knott and her husband, Travis, and Spencer Arnaud and his wife, Melissa; and 5 great grandchildren, Gavin Knott, Jace Knott, Ashton Knott, Hayden Arnaud, and Collin Arnaud, all of Cecilia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Celestine A. Angelle, and Beinvenu Angelle; her husband, Walter Calais; one brother, Donna Dieur Angelle; four sisters, Lapal A. Angelle, Celine Angelle, Esperance 'Baso' Angelle, and Loraine A. Calais. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 until 10:00 p.m. and will continue at 7:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Spencer and Warren Arnaud, Guy Calais, Patrick Calais, Travis Knott, and Ricky Huval. Honorary pallbearers will be DJ and Bobby Calais. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Debra Duhram, the nurses, and the staff of St. Martin Hospital for the compassion and wonderful care given to them at this hard time in their lives.
