St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday January 9, 2008, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, in St. Martinville, for Marcel August Fuselier, 77, who passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his residence in St. Martinville.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Fr. Ed Degeyter, will conduct the services.
Mr. Marcel was part owner and President of M & C Contractors, which was started in 1948. He served on the Board of Directors at St. Martin Bank for 35 years, and was also a sugarcane and rice farmer. He always acknowledged everyone, whether he knew them or not, with a gentle wave of hello, and will long be remembered for his famous saying of, "Everyday is Monday."
Survivors include his wife JoAnn Provost Fuselier of St. Martinville; his sons, Daniel Fuselier and his wife, Debbie, Steve Fuselier and his wife, Brenda, and Byron Fuselier and his wife, Paula; his daughters, Arlene F. Guillot and her husband, Rolland (Pork Chop), and Christine F. Bourque and her husband, David,; his step-sons, Huey (BoBoy) Dugas and his wife, Kaby, and Russell (Beanie) Dugas and his wife, Lyndy; his stepdaughter, Ginger D. Begnaud and her husband, Leroy, all of St. Martinville; his sisters, Hazel Beihl and Flossie Berard both of St. Martinville; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Ida Gauthier Fuselier; his brother, Charles J. Fuselier and Roy Fuselier and his grandson, Daniel Fuselier, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to, JoAnn, "Sissy" Miller, better known as, "Our Angel Nurse." Her service extended beyond friendship as she provided care for Marcel during his illness and to every family member.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, and continue at 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Steve Fuselier, Jr., Leroy Begnaud III, Byron Fuselier, Jr. Shane Fuselier, Travis Fuselier, David Bourque, Jr. and Ashton Dugas
