Marcella Delahoussaye Rochon

Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Marcella Delahoussaye Rochon, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Houston. Rev. Randy Courville will be the Celebrant. The Holy Scripture will be read by Jessica Robinson and Olena Verdun Arrington. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday. A rosary, led by Eugene Olivier, Sr. will be prayed at noon on Wednesday. Marcella Delahoussaye Rochon was born in Grand Marais, Louisiana on November 11, 1949 to the late Herman and Lucy Olivier Delahoussaye. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. She was a 1969 graduate of Jonas Henderson of New Iberia, and retired from the Iberia Parish School System as a Paraprofessional at Westgate High School. Mrs. Rochon is survived by her children, Misty Rochon (Keith, Sr.) Thibodeaux of San Antonio, TX and Quincy (Raquel) Rochon of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Tristen Leday, Noelle Rochon, Austen Rochon, Noah Thibodeaux, Ashley Thibodeaux, and Trevis Thibodeaux; two siblings, Peter Carlton (Bonnie) Delahoussaye of Jeanerette, and Sheryl Delahoussaye (Stanley, Jr. ) Mouton of Broussard; godchildren, Demetria Jefferson, Alecia Granger-Walker, Brent Prade, and Leah Richardson Allen; sisters-in-law, Bertha Delahoussaye, Janice Rochon, Rubelle Rochon, Leola Rochon, and Lisa Nelson; a beloved friend, Cindy Poskey; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Mary Elaine Olivier, Dorothy Delahoussaye Oppenheimer, and Murray Delahoussaye; brothers-in-laws, Murphy Olivier, Alton Oppenheimer, and Mitchell J. Rochon; nephews, Dale Olivier and Peter Donell Olivier; and a special aunt, Francis "Bea" Darbigney. Pallbearers will be Andre Olivier, Eugene Olivier, Jr., Ashley Rochon, Randy Rochon, Jr., Mark Delahoussaye, and Jerrod Guillory. Honorary pallbearers are Peter Carlton Delahoussaye, Stanley Mouton, Jr., James Delahoussaye, Sr., Keith T. Thibodeaux, Sr., and Elroy Reaux.
