Henderson - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, October 27, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson, for Marcia Ann Guidry Landry, 50, who passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Opelousas General Medical Center.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Henderson.
Fr. Allen Breaux will officiate at the funeral Mass.
Marcia loved to dance and had a passion for all types of music. She loved to cook, which she did extremely well and enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and was an avid collector of purses. Marcia will long be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, godmother, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Brent Landry, Sr., of Henderson; four sons, Mark B. Landry, Jr., Brenton Landry, Ian Landry, and Trent Landry, all of Henderson; her mother, Birdie Marie Bergeron Guidry, of Henderson; two brothers, Carl M. Guidry, of Prairieville, and Fernest L. Guidry, of Henderson; two sisters, Paula M. G. Taylor, of Arnaudville, and Lillian G. Boone, of Carencro; four grandchildren, Taylor and Madison, of Rayne, and Breanna and Ashton, of Henderson; and her loving godchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Joseph Guidry; her maternal grandparents, Neville and Elvina Bergeron; her paternal grandparents, Edovic and Lucy Guidry; her in-laws, Levy and Lillian Landry; and her godchild, Blake N. Boone.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m. on Monday until 1:30 p.m.
A rosary will be recited by Deacon Harris Bergeron at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Mark, Jr., Ian, and Trent Landry, Mike Taylor, Brian Boone, and Garth Frederick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brenton Landry, Carl, Fernest, and Chase Guidry, and Stevie Champagne.
The family would like to thank the Opelousas General staff, especially Ms. Lisa, and to Drs. Rees, Elliot, Santiago, Cole, and Deneshfar, for their constant love and support during this difficult and trying time.
