St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2007, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Margaret Madeline Patterson Pierre, 64, who died on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Iberia General Medical Center, in New Iberia. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Fr. Darrell Kelly, pastor of Notre Dame Catholic Church, will conduct the services. Readers will be Lashonda Small, Debra Ryes, and Laura Turpeau. ?Gift bearers will be her three grandchildren, Hope, Liza, and Keri Fontenette. Mrs. Pierre was born, raised and educated in New Orleans, LA. ?She then moved to New York where lived for 21 years and worked as a seamstress for several companies. Upon retiring, she then returned to her home in Louisiana. ?She enjoyed cooking, sewing, shopping, and gardening. ?She will be deeply missed by her daughter and three precious grandchildren, as well as her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Danielle Patterson Fontenette and her husband, Kervin, of St. Martinville; one brother, Edmond Patterson, of New Orleans; one sister, Brenda White, of St. Martinville; and three grandchildren, Hope, Liza, and Keri Fontenette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jules Pierre; and her parents, Evans and Mary Mercier Patterson. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. on Friday and continue until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
