New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM , Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Marguerite 'Sue' Doerle Escude, 97, who passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 in New Iberia. Rev. Ed Degeyter will conduct the funeral service. A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Alexandria Memorial Gardens cemetery with Rev. Chris Nayak officiating. Born on December 6, 1913 in New Iberia , Sue was the daughter of George and Ethel Allingham Doerle. She was married to Gerard Escude of Mansura. Sue taught home economics in Mansura and after moving to Florida to be with her husband during the war, she taught in Key West and Miami . She was a former member of the Lay Carmelites, the St. Francis Cabrini Hospital Auxillary, the Louisiana Teachers Association and former president of the St. Claudia Circle for Orphans. Survivors include her nephews, Garlynn Gaudin and his wife Pam of Youngsville and George Gaudin and his wife Mary of Thibodaux. In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris Gaudin. Pallbearers will be George, Garlynn, Brad and Tim Gaudin. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia .
