Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Maria "Penny" Elena Carroll, 75, who passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at St. Agnes Healthcare & Rehab Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service on Saturday. Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Memorial Service. Maria, better known as "Penny," was born March 30, 1944 in New Iberia. She was retired from the Louisiana Department of Health. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa R. Bourque and husband Michael of Breaux Bridge, Lori R. LeBlanc and husband Walter of New Iberia, and Christi Romero of Youngsville; grandchildren, Drake Bourque, Alex Bourque, Kale Bourque, and Brier Bernard; and her great grandchildren, Haven Bourque, Hudson Bourque, and Charlotte Bourque. She was preceded in death by her father, A.W. Carroll; mother, Laura Dugas; and her former husband and father of her children, Ernest Romero.
