Maria B. Granger

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Maria B. Granger, 97, who passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday. Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Connie Hayes and Louella Champagne. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Mrs. Granger was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and a member of The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning for everyone in the neighborhood. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Granger and companion Chic, Curtis Granger and friend Mary Ann, Donald Granger and wife Anna Lee, and Perry Granger; daughters, Betty Albert and husband Wilbert, and Carol Touchet and husband Cliven; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Granger; herparents, Cyrus and Irma Gautreaux Bernis; her sisters, Luda Theriot, Rita Theriot, and Agnes Oviedo; a grandchild, Mark Granger; and great grandchild, Jeremy Rebert. Pallbearers will be Timothy Granger, David Granger, Errol Albert, Devin Touchet, Donald Granger Jr., and Buck Wiltz. The family would like to give special thanks to Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home and to Bridgeway Hospice for the care given to Maria.
