Cecilia- Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. , on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 , at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Cecilia, for Maria Benoit Hebert, 72, who passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Iberia Medical Center , in New Iberia . The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Deacon Ken Soignier will conduct the services. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Maria enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed going to church. Survivors include her sons, Gerard (Audra) Hebert of Baldwin, Monty (Fran) Taylor of Franklin, John Prentice (Kathy) Taylor of Chalmette and Scott Wayne (Anita) Taylor of Youngsville; her daughters, Wynona (Wayne) Harris of Bismarck, ND and Shannon (Shawn) Hayes of Baton Rouge; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Overne Patrick Hebert; her parents, John and Enola Meaux Benoit; her step father, George Lopez; two brothers, John Gervis Benoit and Melvin Benoit; her sister, Mary Ethel Taylor; and a host of brother and sister in-laws. Pallbearers will be Gerard Hebert; Monty Taylor, Scott Wayne Taylor, Patrick Taylor, Ryan Patterson, John Prentice Taylor and Shawn Hayes. Pellerin Funeral Homeof Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
