Marianne Zimmerle, beloved and treasured, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away March 21st at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette LA. Marianne was born July 24th 1939 in Duquesne, PA to Thomas and Beatrice Steele. She will be deeply missed by her husband of nearly 63 years, Earl "Cheatie" Zimmerle. Marianne was a devoted wife and mother who raised three children in Lima, OH. She was an active member of St Gerard's Catholic Church and a volunteer at St Gerard's School. Upon Earl's retirement they moved to Gulf Breeze, FL where she was active at St. Sylvester's Catholic Church as well as playing cards with the ladies club, attending book club meetings and even joining the local bowling league. With her children and grandchildren spread out across the United States she treasured the summer family reunion trips to Pensacola Beach.
Marianne is survived by her children Mary Beth Zimmerle of Seward, AK and Brian(Jennifer) Zimmerle of Youngsville, LA, six grandchildren, Kyle(Brittney) Zimmerle, Katie(Sam) Noblet, Megan Koster, Bryce Zimmerle, Sam Koster and Ean Zimmerle and 1 great grandchild Eleanor Zimmerle.
She has been reunited in Heaven with her eldest son Scott Zimmerle.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters Beverly Ishol and Joann Paule and brother Thomas Steele, brother in laws Clarence "Tinker" Zimmerle, James "Cooter" Zimmerle and Morgan "Dickie" Zimmerle, Donald Ishol and sister in laws Shirley Zimmerle and Sylvia Zimmerle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on April 4th 11:00am at Sacred Heart Of Broussard in Broussard LA with a Celebration of Life to be held immediately after.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
