A Dedicated Wife and Mother A Mass of Christian burial for Marie L. Delcambre, 84, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father T. James Hebert officiating with Father Charles Langlois and Father Floyd Calais concelebrating. Internment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be observed today from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace, in New Iberia. Visitation will resume Friday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Delcambre died Wednesday, March 21 2007 at 1:30 in her home following an extended battle against Parkinson's disease. Mrs. Delcambre was born in 1922 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She moved with her family to New Iberia, Louisiana, where she graduated from New Iberia Senior High. After graduation, she completed her studies at Vincent's Business College in Lake Charles, Louisiana. On September 18, 1941 she married Donald Delcambre of New Iberia. After World War II, Mrs. Delcambre and her husband resettled in New Iberia to raise their family. As a wife and mother, she dedicated herself to her family serving as a role model for graciousness and commitment. As a volunteer she served both her church and the community through many years of service in organizations such as Baby Visitor's for St. Peter's Catholic Church, Mount Carmel's Mother's Club, Girl Scouts, Garden Club and Dauterive Hospital Pink Ladies. Always a lady, her generous spirit will always be remembered. She is survived by her six daughters, Judy Cole and her husband Bob of Lafayette, Dale LeBlanc and her husband Herb of Lafayette, Linda McGrew and her husband Daren of Charlotte, North Carolina, Donna Trappey and her husband George of New Iberia, Carole Landry and her husband Peter of New Iberia, Beth de Mahy and her husband Philip of New Iberia; two brothers, Anthony Lungaro and F.J. Lungaro and his wife Tillie of Lake Charles; her grandchildren, Courtney Travis, Todd Cole, Dr. Trisha Marullo, Chad Cole, Travis LeBlanc, Capt. Ryan LeBlanc, Laura Sign, Sean McGrew, Kevin McGrew, Kelly Fulton, Ashley Boyle, Angela Cestia, Dr. George 'J.' Trappey IV, Alison Trappey, Ann-Carol Trappey, Amy Trappey, Charlie Landry, John Landry, Mark Landry, Lily Landry, Marie Elizabeth de Mahy, Philip de Mahy, Jr., Anne de Mahy, Don de Mahy, Lauren de Mahy and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Delcambre was preceded in death by her husband Donald Delcambre, her grandson, Don Trappey and her parents, Charles and Angelina Lungaro. The family would like to thank Barbara Domingue, Ella Conner and Hanna Broussard for their dedication and loving care. Pallbearers will be Todd Cole, Chad Cole, Travis LeBlanc, Dr, George 'J' Trappey IV, Philip de Mahy, Charlie Landry, and John Landry Honorary Pallbears will be Sean McGrew, Kevin McGrew, Ryan LeBlanc, Mark Landry, and Don de Mahy. In lieu of flowers donations should be sent to St. Edward Elementary School, Catholic High School, Sister's of Mount Carmel or Hospice of Acadiana. Pellerin Funeral Home of New Iberia, 365.3331 is in charge of the arrangements.
