Marie Foreman Derouen

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, June 26, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Marie Blanchard Foreman Derouen, 92, who passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, in Jeanerette. Interment will follow in the Abshire Cemetery in Vermilion Parish. Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by the Men's Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Derouen was born on October 24, 1924 to the late Andre and Alexandrine Broussard Blanchard. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and was a former religion teacher. Mrs. Derouen enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Nell Foreman Gauthier and husband Dickie of New Iberia, Linda Foreman Rabeaux of New Iberia, Cindy Foreman Hudson and husband Philip of St. Martinville, Jeff Foreman and wife Ethel of Loreauville, Chris Foreman and wife Rachel of Lafayette; stepson, Alvin Derouen, Jr.; stepdaughters, Tina Derouen Deslatte and spouse Carl of New Iberia, Eva Derouen Moody of Houston, Texas; 26 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 21 step great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; 3 step great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doris Foreman, second husband, Alvin Derouen, Sr., infant sons, David and Teddy Foreman, son, Jesse Foreman, Sr., son, Daniel Foreman, son-in-law, Willie Rabeaux, sister, Eugenie "Jane" B. Gaspard, and brothers, Wallace Blanchard, and Lennis Blanchard. Pallbearers will be Mike Rabeaux, Jim Foreman, Richie Gauthier, Timmy Rabeaux, Nicholas LeBlanc, and Michael LeBlanc.
