Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, in Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, for Marie Landry Fletcher, 91, who passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009 at her residence.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Chanh Nguyen will officiate at the funeral Mass.
Mrs. Fletcher loved quilting, vegetable gardening and working in her flower beds. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Deanna Meche, of Lafayette, Arlene Champagne and her husband, Eugene, of St. Martinville, and Geraldine Plaisance and her husband, A. J., of Baton Rouge; one sister, Lulu Mae Dauphine, of Nina; three grandchildren, Jude R. Meche, Gayna M. Swart, and David M. Plaisance; five step grandchildren, Melinda Champagne, Eugene Champagne, Jr., Tracy Champagne, Jason Champagne, and Joshua Champagne; two great grandchildren, Aaron Gabriel Meche and Fletcher W. Swart; five step great grandchildren, Trevor Champagne, Ashlyn Champagne, Dylan Champagne, Mylee Champagne, and McKenzee Champagne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Fletcher; her parents, Earnest and Estelle Thibodeaux Landry; a son-in-law, Aaron Meche; two brothers, John and Eno Landry; and two sisters, Birdie Daigle and Maria Poche.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Jude R. Meche, Eugene Champagne, Jr., Jason Champagne, Joshua Champagne, Eugene Champagne, Sr., and Tracy Champagne.
Honorary pallbearer will be David M. Plaisance.
