Marie Enola Helaire

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 15, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Marie Enola Helaire, 85, who passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Helaire enjoyed being surrounded by many children, although, many were not her own. Most people referred to her as "Mrs. Boone," while others called her, "the lady that loves to go to church and be with people." She loved her garden and flower beds. Survivors include three sons, Gilbert Peter Helaire, Francisco Paul Helaire, wife, Cheryl, and Joseph Lee Helaire, all of Breaux Bridge; six daughters, Ursula H. Champagne, of Breaux Bridge, Theresa Vivian Arceneaux, husband, George, of Lafayette, Mary Linda Helaire, of Breaux Bridge, Julie H. Chretien, husband, Tracy, of Lafayette, Gloria Jean Papillion, husband, Hilman, of Breaux Bridge, and Margaret H. Boutte, of New Iberia; three sisters, Gussie Z. Sheldon, of Breaux Bridge, Ezora Z. Collins, of Lafayette, and Beatrice Z. Broussard, husband, Dorville, of Breaux Bridge; 39 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert J. Helaire; her parents, Pascal and Michaele Zenon; and a great grandson, Bobby Prade. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
