Marie Louise Simon

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Marie Louise Simon, 75, who died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Mrs. Simon was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Maurice Simon of Breaux Bridge; five sons, Keith Simon and his wife, Camille, Michael Simon and his wife, Rachael, Alan Simon, and his wife, Phyllis, all of Breaux Bridge, Glenn Simon of Lafayette, and Gary Simon and his wife, Peggy, of Parks; eleven grandchildren, Bryan Simon, Jeremy Simon, Jeffery Simon, Clint Simon, Crystal Simon, Jennee Simon, Jessica Simon, Jonathan Simon, Megan Simon, Laurie Simon, and Michelle Simon; and five great grandchildren, Grayson Simon, Hayden Simon, Cohen Patin, Ivy Simon, and Nicholas Blevins. Mrs. Simon was preceded in death by her parents, Cleophe and Leota Gonsuron, her two brothers, Ray and Ralph Gonsuron, and her daughter-in-law, Sebby Simon. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Monday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be her husband, Maurice, and her five sons, Keith, Michael, Alan, Glenn, and Gary Simon. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Gonsuron, Ricky Gonsuron, and Tommy Woods. The family would like to give special thanks to the people who helped care for Marie Louise, including her sister-in-law, Cecilia Jane Dupuis, Delores Joseph, Liz Joe, and Hospice of Acadiana (nurse Jo Doucet and Rose.) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in her name, may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
