Vi was a parishioner of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Hens-n-Chicks. She loved to read and spent countless hours doing so and passed this love of hers on to her 4  children. She also loved crocheting, working in her flower beds, baking and sewing; making countless christening gowns for family and friends.   Her best times were spent with her husband, children, their spouses, and her grand babies.  Vi's grandchildren were her world and those great grandbabies brought her more joy than she ever knew possible. She was looking forward to the new great grandbaby due to arrive in August.  Among family, Vi and her sisters were known as the "Arnaudville Mafia" because of their fierce care of their mother while she was in the nursing home, nothing went unnoticed while they cared for her.  Loyalty was everything to them, even forming a club with Vi as leader with each one having a ring to signify their loyalty to each other.  Vi was the glue that held her sisters and nieces together. "Hens-n-Chicks" was created to gather them together for a meal and much needed visit. There were even times when the poulettes were invited to attend the meal.  As a past time, she would get on her iPad and log into FaceBook and express her thoughts of everyone's pictures and status. Mom's journey was a long and hard one, but we know she did what she did out of love for her family and for that we are forever grateful. She will be remembered for her sassiness, love for her family and the will to live.

She is survived by her sons, Phillip James Stelly (Linda Jean) and Timothy W. Stelly (Janet); daughters, Jacqueline A. Stelly and Brandi D. Brasseaux;  grandchildren, Lanie Stelly (Alfred), Tyler Stelly (Nicole), Seth Stelly (Hallie), Keiffer Stelly (Jessica), Chase Brasseaux, Emily Kennison (Blake), Kennedy Stelly, Justin Brasseaux and  Gabrielle Brasseaux; great grandchildren, Evan, Jamison, Owen, CJ, Jaxson, Serenity, Kayleigh, Addison, Opie, Greyson and little one on the way; sisters, Mary Ann Hebert, Joanne Quebedeaux (Roland), Linda Bernard (Donald) and Brenda Schexnayder;  brothers, Charles R. Guilbeau (Patsy) and Floyd J Guilbeau (Joy).

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willie Stelly; parents, Doris  John and Evelyn Marie Guilbeau; son-in-law, Kirvee Woodard; granddaughter, Kayla Stelly and her brothers, Leroy and Leland Guilbeau.

Pallbearers will be Timothy W. Stelly, Tyler Stelly, Seth Stelly, Keiffer Stelly, Justin Brasseaux and Phillip James Stelly.

Honorary pallbearers will be  Chase Brasseaux, Charles R. Guilbeau, Floyd J Guilbeau, Jason Guilbeau, Alfred Stelly and Blake Kennison.

Vi's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Steven Saccaro, Dr Perri Prellop, Tracie Dubose, NP, Kelly (Mom's favorite nurse) and the entire staff at the Cancer Center of Acadiana and CyberKnife Center.
