Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, December 24, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Marie Wiltz, 88, who passed away on Friday, December 21, 2007 at her residence.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Allen Breaux will conduct the funeral service.
Mrs. Wiltz worked at Trappey's Cannery and many restaurants as an owner, manager, and cook; and she was also an Avon Representative. ?She was a creative storyteller, wonderful seamstress and a quilt maker. ?She demonstrated her talents of quilt making at the Evangeline State Park and on the Delta Queen. ?She also enjoyed net making and fishing. She will be missed dearly by her family and loved ones.
Survivors include two sons, Rufus Amy, Jr. and his wife, Joe Anne, of St. Martinville, and Sosthene J. ""Soso"" and his wife, Beverly Theriot Amy, of Henderson; one daughter, Mary Alice White and her husband, Robert, of Baton Rouge; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noe and Ophelia Dumatrait Wiltz; her 1st husband, Wasey Delcambre; her 2nd husband, Rufus Amy, Sr.; and her 3rd husband, Emory Wiltz; her brother, Carlton Wiltz; her daughter, Virgil Mae Hebert; and two grandsons, Michael Bruce Hebert and Blake Paul Daigle.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Rufus Amy, Jr., Kelly Daigle, Steve LeGrand, Ronald Wiltz, Chris Lang, and Scottie Berard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kelby Daigle, Shawn Belaire, and Robert White.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
